Martin Daniel read Modern History at Oxford University. After research on economic history there, he joined the Economics Unit of the then British Coal Corporation, following which he became head of the Supply, Transport and Markets Group at IEA Coal Research. He then worked at a UK energy media and consultancy until 2001 when he joined Platts, where he edits the newsletter Power in Asia from Singapore. He is an active naturalist, specializing in Asian forest birds.

He received his degree in philosophy and politics from University of Warwick, and went on to complete a masters degree in international relations at Southampton University. He has worked as a journalist since graduation, and has been with Platts for more than ten years, serving in London, Houston and now Singapore, where he manages coverage by more than 50 reporters in the Asia Pacific region.

In 1993, one year after she gave birth to her daughter, Fiona, Cecilia decided to work as a freelance journalist, contributing political and economic articles for various international publications, including Platts. Cecilia started to work fulltime for Platts in 2001 where she has since been an Associate Editor for the company's weekly International Coal Report and the daily Coal Trader International.

Alessandro Vitelli, managing editor for global emissions markets, is responsible for Emissions Daily. He worked on Platts' oil and petrochemicals' desks, beginning in 1988, including a stint as director of petrochemicals, and has been a broker with PVM Associates. He holds a bachelor's degree in politics and French from the University of Reading, and also studied at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris.

KimFeng Wong graduated from the National University of Singapore with an honours degree in physics. She also has a masters of science in finance from RMIT. She has been responsible for Asian coverage as senior editor of Platts LNG Daily since 2005. Prior to Platts, she was with Energy Argus as Asia editor, focusing on Asian gas and power coverage.
