2007 Global Energy Leaders

On behalf of Capgemini and my thousands of colleagues across the world, I heartily congratulate the finalists of the 2007 Platts Global Energy Awards.

Now in its ninth year, the Platts Global Energy Awards program pays tribute to those companies and individuals who have done the most to define—and often redefine—excellence in their fields. For the fifth consecutive year, Capgemini is proud to be the principal sponsor of this event, and as the energy industry continues to transform itself through the use of technologies, we salute the people and companies leading the way.

To win a Platts Award is to join a very select group of leaders. Each year, Platts receives more than 200 nominations from dozens of countries around the world and from every sector of the energy industry. Capgemini is proud to be a part of a program that recognizes their outstanding accomplishments.

The world's oil, gas and utility companies are no strangers to change. The challenges to be managed and overcome include: energy security of supply, sustained development and climate change challenges, mergers and acquisitions, privatization, compliance with new deregulation and competition. Only those companies able to respond quickly and decisively to dynamic market conditions can expect long-term growth and meaningful returns. These are the types of issues this year's winners have addressed, and as such, have proven that they truly are the "best of the best."
